		What’s the big news? Your dog is vaccinated on a regular basis against distemper, adenovirus (hepatitis), parvovirus, and rabies. Our clinic has decided to offer a product called Continuum® that lets us protect your dog against these core diseases for 3 years at a time. Why the change? In recent years, there has been growing concern about appropriate vaccination of pets. The American Animal Hospital Association and major universities have recommended vaccinating every 3 years for distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and rabies. Continuum DAP and Continuum DAP-R are vaccines that have been approved by the US government for 3-year protection against these diseases. And receiving one vaccine for these diseases every 3 years can mean greater safety and comfort for your dog.
	What do I need to do? Not a thing. Although your dog will now receive this vaccination every 3 years, there may be other vaccines that are needed annually. And keep in mind that vaccines are only one part of your dog’s care. It is important that you continue with regularly scheduled visits so that we can provide the ongoing care necessary to keep your dog healthy and happy.
