Dr. Brauneis is a Boston native and found her way to South Carolina by attending Clemson University. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science from Clemson, she attended the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
During veterinary school, Dr. Brauneis was the president of the Student Chapter of the American Association of Shelter Veterinarians and worked closely with the county shelter to provide vaccinations and preventative medications, as well as helping the animals find their future homes. During her clinical year, she spent time at the Birmingham Humane Society performing spay and neuter procedures and provided daily medical care to the animals in the Birmingham shelter network. Her interests besides shelter medicine include dermatology and surgery.
Dr. Brauneis has recently moved to Greenville with her husband Caleb. They currently have a cat named Nemo, an extra-large hound-mix named Duke, and coonhound mix named Demi. In her free time, Dr. Brauneis enjoys finally having free time (a rarity during school), gardening and exploring the Greenville area.
